Historical Monthly Station Data

Information appearing on this web page has been gathered from the National Climatic Data Center's (NCDC) Summary of the Month (TD-3220) dataset. Data are primarily from the National Weather Service (NWS) cooperative station network. The vast majority of the observers are volunteers (non-paid, private individuals). However, the cooperative network also includes the NWS principal climatological stations, which are operated by highly trained observers. The NWS cooperative station network also includes stations that are supported by other federal agencies (e.g., the Department of Interior and Department of Transportation).

Beginning with the data for January 1982, Cooperative data were processed through a completely revised system. Relying heavily on new computer editing procedures, data have been subjected to internal consistency checks, compared against climatological limits, checked serially, and evaluated against surrounding station observations. The historical data (pre-1982) were converted from existing digital files. These data were processed through a gross value check and not the current edit system. It is the National Climatic Data Center's goal to bring these historical files up to the same level of quality as those from 1982 onward as resources become available.

Data can be accessed by using the menus below. Please select a station from the appropriate category and click "Go". All temperatures are in degrees Fahrenheit. All precipitation (which includes rainfall and the liquid equivalent of snowfall) and snowfall are displayed in inches.
